'Cubes' - Photo Installation, 2016
This work uses slow exposure technique to analyse the human form as it moves through space over a duration of time. The structural form of the piece borrows from Bacon's cages, imagining a view from each side of the cube analysing the form. By isolating the form without any contextualizing surroundings, the work can be interpreted as purely formal analysis of the human form, rather than narrative or about the placement of the figure in a particular location/ time/place. The work references the early canon's and concept of male and female idealism, however here ideal male and female form is juxtaposed. Geometry is implied through the cubic structure, and the overlapping forms in each image.
